Frances studied Flamenco guitar for many years with the world famous Spanish guitarist Paco Pena and later classical guitar with Gilbert Biberian. She then spent several years in France and during that time toured the South of France with the ‘Orchestre National d’Aquitaine’ and with the ‘Opera National de Bordeaux’. Frances has also played in the Early Music group ‘Accord Superflu’ and performed with the French guitarist Laurence Postigo.
On her return to the UK Frances has given many concerts as a duo with Leo and is in great demand as a teacher.

Frances Griffin and Leo Turner have performed extensively throughout the UK and Europe. They have also performed on Television and Radio both here and abroad. Performances include: formal concerts, corporate events, weddings and foyer concerts at the Barbican, National Theatre and Royal Festival Hall. They have performed in Master classes with John Williams, Eduardo Abreu and Gilbert Biberian.
Their repertoire is extensive and includes works from the Renaissance to contemporary music covering Classical, Latin, Jazz and Spanish styles. Equally important to the vast range of original works for two guitars is Leo‘s enthusiasm for arranging and improvising, which play an important role in making the duo’s performances exciting and unique.
